It's shocking how fast this winter has gone by. In part it seems to have gone by quickly because it never really felt like winter. I never wore my winter jacket, never ran in long underwear, never had to warm my horses bit because it would freeze to my horses tongue. I think I may have only wore my Uggs once.
And now the May wedding is approaching fast. 51 days to go. I feel like I need more and less time all at the same time (say that 5 times fast!). I'd like to be done with all the planning and just have the wedding now, but realize that extra time would help me finish all the little important things that I seem to have let slide over the past months. Like wedding bands for instance...
It's true, we haven't ordered our wedding bands. My dress hasn't been altered. I haven't finished my bridesmaid gifts (although I made progress on that today). We also don't have a photographer yet.
I'm having a poor planning skills pity party right now. Join me.
The only thing that I can honestly say is going well on my wedding planning right now is my fitness program. I've been running a lot lately and feeling great. I even sucked it up and ran a speed workout today (and by today I mean two days ago because I am a slacker). Clearly I can only accomplish one plan at a time, it's either training or wedding things.
However in the fitness category of all this, my exercising seems to have muscled me up and now I am too big for my britches...literally my riding britches are too small for my athletic legs. Well maybe not too small, but they seem tighter. I will mourn the day when I have to buy 5 new pairs of larger jeans and riding pants to accomodate my thighs. I happen to think this is actually a riding thing, not so much a running thing, because horse back riders use their inner thigh muscles for riding and punish themselves with "no stirrup" rides.
I could definitely stop running if it was for the good of my jeans...I'll just tell the Dr. at my next physical "nope I don't run or exercise now because it made my thighs too large for my pants, it was really a health issue so I had to stop." I could totally do that. But not riding, that's a completely different story. I could never stop riding for any reason, especially one that affected my health. That would be well...inconceivable. I've ridden through sprained and broken ankles, back problems, colds, yeah I'm pretty tough.
In other news I am making a few of these fabric flowers to attach to dog collars. I personally think theses look great and I think I may make two for Addie and Bella while I'm at it.
QUIZ OF THE DAY:
How much time will it take for Addie and Bella to destroy each others fabric flowers?
Let's be real here people, I'll make them anyways because in a perfect world I would love for my dogs to wear cute little things like this, but they will not last. Not with my hole digging, sock chewing, water spilling yahoos.
