I Am Extremely Talented At Nail Art.

I am also too cheap to get a manicure.  My job involves physical labor.  I deal with dirt, poop, mud, hay and shavings at the barn every day.  Thus, a manicure lasts about 0.2 seconds before chipping off and looking like crap.

I had a manicure once, and then I rode my horse...
so I don't waste my money.

So I was reading the bible the other day and I found a solution.   There was an ad for Sally Hansen nail polish strips! They have patterns and look sick and they last 10 days and they are only $10!!!

Oh are we still stuck on the bible thing - yes Cosmo is my bible.  I don't often read the real bible.  Or as Andrew's brother, Blake, called it - the holly bibble.  I hope you can deduct on your own the importance of Church in my family.

Anyways back to the the important stuff...so I went to Walgreens to check these bad boys out!  They had a ton of them!  Since I knew I was going to the MC ball I picked something classy.

These strips are called Laced Up.
Ok I don't know if 'classy' is the word to describe them but they were so cool I had to go with my gut.

I have to say it was slightly more difficult to apply these strips than the directions stated.  I added a few steps of my own, such as trimming the ends with nail scissors instead of trying to file a 1/2" of nail polish and plastic covering off the tips of my fingers.  Honestly, though, it wasn't very hard and the effect is totally awesome.

I tried to tell Michael I did them myself...he was surprisingly quick to guess that they were "stickers."  He said I should have pretended someone else did them instead...I guess he doesn't think I am a talented nail artist.  That probably has something to do with the fact that he used to watch my doodle in class all the time.

I love them though and I think the lace print looks amazing.  I can't wait to try a new pattern!
Next time I promise to take step-by-step pics in case you ever feel the need to try them.
